Background Information

I was born deaf due to genetics (I am the third deaf in the generation).

 

How did you come to choose to work alongside the Deaf/Deafblind?

I have been with Deaf people all my life as I went to a deaf primary and secondary schools, have empathy with a deaf person, enjoy supporting them throughout the course to ensure they have full access to information and knowledge. 

Hobbies and Interests

I love travelling around the globe, especially meeting deaf people around the world, I can use the International Sign Language to communicate with deaf foreigners.

I enjoy cooking and exploring different cultured food.

I also enjoy reading books especially by Harlan Coben, my favourite author!

What relevant qualifications do you possess?

I hold a BSL Level 6, Level 4 in Youth Work, City & Guilds 7307 part 1 and 2 in teaching.  I am a qualified Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA) and I am currently in training to become a Deaf relay Interpreter.

Preferred method(s) of communication

BSL and I can use SSE.
